Risking Lives for God

I would just like to say something about The Hiding Place movie (and also the book). I loved them both. They are about Corrie Ten Boom. So anyway, here goes.

In 1940, German soldiers invaded the Netherlands. Most people who survived that war don’t look back. Many people still get distressed, have nightmares, and are depressed. Be that as it may, the Ten Booms’ did not suffer from these conditions. Despite the true fact that the Ten Booms’ were treated harshly, even unto death, God always remained in the center of thought and heart, and of strength, love and hope. Before Corrie Ten Boom died of old age, she was still joyful, peaceful, and healthy, despite what horrors she went through. The Ten Booms’ knew they had to obey God in all things.

The Ten Booms’ knew they were risking everything they had, even their very lives, to disobey the destructive laws of men and obey God. On page 71 of the Hiding Place, Corrie asks the question, “How should a Christian live when evil was in power?” An answer to her question was made by her father, Casper Ten Boom, on page 78. “In this household,” Father said, “God’s people are always welcome.” This type of rebellion against men, was better than disobeying God. In Matthew 25:35-40, Jesus says that what you do to the least of His, you do to Him. God also says, to look after the orphans and the widows (James 1:27). On the contrary to this, one might say that the Ten Booms’ taking in Jews was only a simple act of love and kindness. One might even say they were foolish to risk their own lives to save a Jewish life. If it was foolish, why did the plans the Ten Booms’ have to hide the Jews, successful.

God hid His people right under the enemy’s noses. God was in everything the Ten Booms’ did. On page 146, Corrie was sent a letter while she was in prison. Under the postage stamp was the coded message, “All the watches in your closet are safe.” That meant that all the Jews behind the false wall in the Beje were safe. In the Bible, in Psalm 91:1, it says, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Also in Psalm 145:20 the Psalmist declares, “The Lord preserveth all them that love Him: but all the wicked will He destroy.” At the same time, one that does not believe in this may say that the Jews not being found was “luck”, a coincidence or the Nazi doing a poor search. So it was that the hidden Jews were safe, but the Ten Booms’ were still arrested.

Although there were tears when the Ten Booms’ were taken to be imprisoned, Papa Ten Boom assured the Nazi officer that if he was to stay behind, he would not keep the door shut on someone in need who knocked (pg. 131). Papa Ten Boom was given the chance not go to prison if he would only not help any Jews. While on the truck, Papa looked down on the Nazi officer and rejected the offer to stay. He would fear God and honour their Queen (pg. 126). In Matthew 10:28, Jesus says, “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both body and soul in hell.” If the Ten Booms’ had not feared God more than men, they would not have taken in the Jews. If they had not feared God, they might not have been arrested but would have been spared their lives. However, if that were the case, one can only imagine how upset, angry, and disappointed God would be to see His children rejecting His other children in need. With this in mind, one could say that God would be understanding; that God would see it was okay not to risk their lives for the sake of another. Similar to Matthew 10:28, in Matthew 16:25 Jesus says, “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it.”

Ultimately, as shown above, the Ten Booms’, risking all for God and His people, trusted and had complete faith that He would supply, protect, and work all for good and for His glory. God was seen in every situation that the Ten Booms’ encountered and they always knew and felt He was with them. In prison, many tried to discourage Corrie and her sister, Betsie, in believing that was a God who cared when their circumstances were so dreadful. Nevertheless, even in the evil darkness that surrounded the sisters, they would not give up on their Father in heaven, for they knew that He would never give up on them.

Quotes

These are some quotes that I like. I haven't, of course read every quotes of the world, but these are the ones that I have read and do like.

"There are people who agree with the Bible and people who believe the Bible. People who agree with the Bible, agree with it and don't do anything. People who believe the Bible, believe it and do it."
- Author Unknown

"Do not be satisfied with a life that is not wholly swallowed up in God."
- Smith Wigglesworth

"If He is in you, you ought to bring forth evidence of that power."
- Smith Wigglesworth

"I am not moved by what I see. I am moved only by what I believe. I know this: no man looks at the circumstances or relies on his feelings if he believes. The man who believes God has his request."
- Smith Wigglesworth

"The Spirit of God in a person makes someone a Christian, not an adherence to a set of beliefs."

Debate on existence of God

Debate on existence of God: Professor vs Student named 'Einstein'

A VERY INTERESTING CONVERSATION

An Atheist Professor of Philosophy was speaking to his Class on the Problem Science has with
GOD, the ALMIGHTY. He asked one of his New Christian Students to stand and . . .

Professor : You are a Christian, aren't you, son ?
Student : Yes, sir.

Professor : So, you Believe in GOD ?
Student : Absolutely, sir.

Professor : Is GOD Good ?
Student : Sure.

Professor : Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL ?
Student : Yes.

Professor : My Brother died of Cancer even though he Prayed to GOD to Heal him.

Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill.
But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent )

Professor : You can't answer, can you ? Let's start again, Young Fella. Is GOD Good?
Student : Yes.

Professor : Is Satan good ?
Student : No.

Professor : Where does Satan come from ?
Student : From . . . GOD . . .

Professor : That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World?
Student : Yes.

Professor : Evil is everywhere, isn't it ? And GOD did make everything. Correct?
Student : Yes.

Professor : So who created evil ?
(Student did not answer)

Professor : Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the World, don't they?
Student : Yes, sir.

Professor : So, who Created them ?
(Student had no answer)

Professor : Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe the World around you. Tell me, son . . . Have you ever Seen GOD?
Student : No, sir.

Professor : Tell us if you have ever Heard your GOD?
Student : No , sir.

Professor : Have you ever Felt your GOD, Tasted your GOD, Smelt your GOD?
Have you ever had any Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter?
Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.

Professor : Yet you still Believe in HIM?
Student : Yes.

Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol,
Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student : Nothing. I only have my Faith.

Professor : Yes, Faith. And that is the Problem Science has.
(Here, the student begins to shoot back the professor.)

Student : Professor, is there such a thing as Heat?
Professor : Yes.

Student : And is there such a thing as Cold?
Professor : Yes.

Student : No, sir. There isn't.

(The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events )

Student : Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat, Mega Heat, White Heat,
a Little Heat or No Heat. But we don't have anything called Cold. We can hit 458
Degrees below Zero which is No Heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is
no such thing as Cold. Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat. We
                     cannot Measure Cold.
Heat is Energy. Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it.

(There was Pin-Drop Silence in the Lecture Theatre )

Student : What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as Darkness?
Professor : Yes. What is Night if there isn't Darkness?

Student : You're wrong again, sir.
Darkness is the Absence of Something
You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light . . .
But if you have No Light constantly, you have nothing and its called Darkness, isn't it?
                       In reality, Darkness isn't.
If it is, were you would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn't you?
Professor : So what is the point you are making, Young Man ?

Student : Sir, my point is your Philosophical Premise is flawed.
Professor : Flawed ? Can you explain how?

Student : Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality.
You argue there is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD.
You are viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure.
Sir, Science can't even explain a Thought.
It uses Electricity and Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood
                   either one.
To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that Death cannot
exist as a Substantive Thing. Death is Not the Opposite of Life: just the Absence of it Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your Students that they evolved from a
                   Monkey?
Professor : If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process, yes, of course, I do.

Student : Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a Smile, beginning to realize where the Argument was going )

Student : Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at work and
Cannot even prove that this Process is an On-Going Endeavor,

Are you not teaching your Opinion, sir?
Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher?

(The Class was in Uproar )

Student : Is there anyone in the Class who has ever seen the Professor's Brain?

(The Class broke out into Laughter )

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's Brain, Felt it, touched or Smelt
it? . . . No one appears to have done so.
So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol,

Science says that You have No Brain, sir.
With all due respect, sir, how do we then Trust your Lectures, sir?

(The Room was Silent. The Professor stared at the Student, his face unfathomable)

Professor : I guess you'll have to take them on Faith, son.
Student : That is it sir . . . Exactly !
The Link between Man & GOD is FAITH.
That is all that Keeps Things Alive and Moving.

NB: I believe you have enjoyed the Conversation . . . and if so . . . You'll probably want your Friends / Colleagues to enjoy the same . . . won't you? Forward them to Increase their Knowledge . . . or FAITH. That student was Albert Einstein.

This is from Facebook. Just saying this is not my own. :) This is the link to it. I love this.

The Same Spirit

In Romans 8:11 it says , "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."

This scripture not only tells us that we have the same spirit Jesus has, but it also says it shall quicken our mortal bodies. "Quicken". That means if it is slow, unwell, sick, depressed, whatever, it will be quickened, meaning it will be given life. This scripture is one in many that tell us that we can be healed.

Now as Christians, we should know that God heals right? If we believe He can heal, do we believe also that He can heal now, through us. I should hope that we do. For the Bible says that we can heal. Us, humans, God's sons, can heal.

Before I go on about being healed and all that, I know some of you have thought, "She forgot to put "daughters" in there". True, but I did do that intentionally. Of course, there are girls and boys. But in God's eyes let's say that we are His sons. Why sons? Because when God looks at a believer He should be able to see Jesus in us, He should see His Son. Therefore, we should be as sons. Get it?

Anyway, back to healing.

I am sure that most of you have heard about healing in one way or another. This medicine can heal, that remedy heals the stings, God heals brokenness, etc. I pray that you all do believe that God ALWAYS heals. Yes, he does. You say He doesn't always heal? Not true.

But you say, "What about all those innocent babies that die of sicknesses? What about all the people who die of cancer? What about all the people that are dying of sicknesses all the time? Including Christians?" I hear what you say, but I disagree with you. I mean, I see that happening, yes. But all that only happens because Christians are not doing what Jesus commanded. There should be NO sickness taking peoples health and lives. But there are. Why? Not because God lets it happen, but because there are thieving, lying, murderous, disobedient devils everywhere. Devils tremble in fear of the name of Jesus. "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe and tremble." James 2:19. But, just like I mentioned above, they don't want to obey. They hate God. They'll do anything against Him. So, they take the lives of the people God has created, in both physical and spiritual ways. Jesus gave the believers the responsibility to heal them, raise them from the dead... "And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give." Matthew 10:7-8. There. That is what believers NEED to do . You can't just believe, all you Christians. You need to DO what Jesus said.

"What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." James 2:14-26.

"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." James 1:22-25.

Believers, we have a job to do!! We can't be selfish, can't think of your own shyness or lack of boldness. Everything we need, has already been given to us by God. We need to think of all that Satan is stealing from people. We can fight him, when we have Christ in us. Our minds need to always be renewed to His Word, to Him.

"According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ."

2 Peter 1:3-11
